FAQs

Do you accept insurance?

We do not bill insurance directly. We operate on a simple, flat-fee model to ensure transparency and avoid surprise costs. If you have out-of-network benefits or an HSA/FSA, we’re happy to provide a superbill for potential reimbursement.

Where do you offer homebirth services?

We serve families throughout the Willamette Valley, including areas between Salem and Portland, Oregon. If you’re unsure whether your location is within our service area, please reach out — we’re happy to confirm!

What’s included in your homebirth care package?

Our comprehensive care package includes prenatal visits (in your home), 36 week birth space preparation consultation, birth kit with all the needed supplies, 24/7 on-call availability near your due time, continuous care during labor and birth, newborn care for first 28 days of life, and postpartum visits. We also offer lactation support and holistic postpartum guidance.

Is homebirth safe?

Yes, for healthy, low-risk pregnancies, homebirth with a skilled midwife is a safe and evidence-based option. We monitor you and your baby closely throughout pregnancy and labor, and are trained to recognize complications early and coordinate hospital transfer if needed.

Do you offer ultrasounds or lab testing?

Yes. We offer in-home early pregnancy and third trimester ultrasounds as well as routine lab work. All services are provided in a setting that is respectful, calm, and centered on your comfort and informed choice.

Do you offer care beyond pregnancy?

Absolutely. We provide a full spectrum of care, including preconception counseling, well-woman exams, contraceptive counseling, miscarriage support, and more. Our gynecologic care is personalized, evidence-based, and grounded in mutual respect.

Can I have a water birth?

Yes! Many of our clients choose to labor and/or give birth in water. We can provide guidance on setting up a birth tub at home and will help you decide if water birth is a good option for you.

What if I need to transfer to the hospital during labor?

We always prioritize safety. If a hospital transfer becomes necessary, we communicate clearly and act promptly. We remain with you for support, and when possible, continue to advocate for your needs in the hospital setting.

When should I reach out to start care?

As early as you're ready! We recommend reaching out in your first trimester to reserve your spot, as we limit the number of clients we take each month to ensure personalized, attentive care.
